The quality of food and portion size is superior to any other `big, well-known` Newark Portuguese restaurants. Unfortunately, the evening crowd can be loud, but the wait staff will make up for this. Following the renovations, the upstairs section is very nice as it overlooks Franklin Street. The downstairs seating area is just fine for lunch or a quick dinner. Despite some atmosphere issues, if you want simply the best Portuguese meal in Newark, check out the Chateau of Spain!!
